With a proper functioning Reverse Osmosis system, the level of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) of your R.O. water will normally be significantly less that of your tap water. A simple way to measure the TDS level is to use a conductivity meter. If your tap water is 400 parts per million and your R.O. water is initially 25 parts per million, you know that there is a problem with your R.O. system if your R.O. water suddenly registers 400 parts per million.
We sell two conductivity meters:
1. The RO1 (by Myron L) costs $144 plus shipping ($5 anywhere in U.S.). It can measure TDS in the water up to 1200 parts per million. (Warranty information: All Myron L instruments have a one year warranty. If any instrument fails to function normally, return it to the
factory prepaid. If, in the opinion of the factory, failure was due to materials or workmanship, repair or
replacement will be made without charge. A reasonable service charge will be made for diagnosis or repairs due
to normal wear, abuse or tampering. Warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the Myron L instrument
only. The Myron L Company assumes no other responsibility or liability.)
2. The Primo (by Hanna Instruments) costs $29 plus shipping ($3.50 anywhere in the U.S.). This meter does not come with a warranty.
